Solid Fuel Safety: Be Carbon Monoxide Aware

The Chimney Doctor - BeCarbonAware

Whether you have an open fireplace or solid fuel burning stove, these all produce large amounts of Carbon Monoxide. Under normal conditions these gases will travel up the chimney or flue, but if you have a blockage they may well not do so safely. A Carbon Monoxide Alarm placed in the room - no closer than one meter horizontally to the fireplace or stove - will give you an early warning of a problem.
