Spring is in the Air - Avoid the early birds nesting in your chimney

Homeowners with a chimney in their property should beware of the annual invasion of nesting birds looking for a cosy place to set up home. Birds love a good chimney  - preferably with central heating drawing warm air up to the pot!. Jackdaws, blackbirds and starlings are the main culprits and the first sign that you have a potential lodger in the flue is the presence of a few twigs or other non-chimney materials dropping down into your fire place. Now is a good time to get the Autumn / Winter soot swept away and clear any early nest attempts into the bargain!

Jackdaw nesting season begins now. Get swept and clear out old nests as well as new.
